Cre8ing Growth ran a series of Regional Events Development Workshops on behalf of Tourism NSW for regional event organisers, local councils and tourism managers throughout regional NSW in late 2010.

The role of the workshops was to help regional communities develop and grow sustainable events that maximise their tourism potential and provide economic benefit to their community. The workshop program cultivated skills in staging, growing and marketing events as a means to driving visitation to these regional communities.

The workshop program was developed to cater for participants

• Who were new to event organisation
• Who were looking to run a new event
• Who wanted to further develop existing events

The workshop facilitators, Cre8ing Growth, achieved this by running two streams of sessions throughout the day. The program also saw the participants come together to collectively discuss issues such as event marketing and grant/government support and funding.

The workshop series was a great success and was completed by a series of webinars in February 2011.
